Let’s talk about prevention!! …of wrinkles.

Cosmetic neuromodulators ?(Botox, Xeomin, Dysport, etc) are purified, natural proteins that relax wrinkle-causing muscles, creating a smoothed appearance in the areas treated.

They work by blocking nerve signalling to facial muscles to reduce movement, thereby reducing dynamic lines for 3-4 months following treatment. In this way, neuromodulators help to reduce the development of static lines (wrinkles). Dynamic lines are wrinkles that occur during facial expression, and can be effectively treated with cosmetic neuromodulators to help you look more vibrant and refreshed.

Static lines are those present at rest, which may be softened by treatment but are unlikely to disappear.

“How many units will I need?”

Answer is, it depends! Individual anatomy, symmetry, and desired result will ultimately determine how many units of Botox/Xeomin required, but the above visual can give you a sense of what women can expect in terms of treatment and cost (men typically require a bit more). I’m a conservative injector. I think it’s important to use the minimal effective dose in all treatments – from supplements + medications, to Botox. This typically allows for a more natural result through retaining the ability for some facial expression (ie. not to look/feel “frozen”) while still creating a smoothed appearance.
